Marionetas / Puppets

Musica latinoamericana variada, faroles cirqueros o murgistas, guirnaldas, banderines.

"I refuse to tolerate this forceful amateurism". The word he was looking for was not forceful, but incisive, persistent perhaps... something to indicate the constant need of hammering on the mistake and repeat it, reproduce it, and be proud of it.

We had gone out on adventure, to get something of the cultural offer in the Abasto neighbourhood. It's full of old houses used for theatrical shows, variete, painting, poetry... so we went there. We found one of these houses, puppets variete, a good menu (snacks and beer, nachos & guacamole) and we waiting while enjoying conversation, beer and snacks. The nachos dissappeared almost after arrival. When they tell us that we can already move to where the show would start, we get a table, keep on eating and chatting... more waiting... An absent friend's criticism who would say "very... latinamerican all of this... very mediocre, I don't like that fixation some people have on being proud of something that's not even rustic and even more try to make it appear some kind of cultural identity they don't even belong to..."

Varied LatinAmerican music, circus or murga like lamps, garlands and pennants. A couple of very good paintings (photograph reproduction Un par de cuadros muy logrados (photorealistic with expresionist bits) and the whole place with exposed brick. Everthing fine with the paintings and exposed brick. And very good snacks. Simple but very good.

When we were almost tired of waiting, from behind the courtains a request for claps. They ask for whistling, cheering, passion on the audience... begging and asking again, they get what they wanted and the courtains open.

Dissimilar puppets, disparate, of dubious finish. Or nonexistant, rather. The script? One of those me and my niece could play on a sunday afternoon. In fact, I felt I should have stayed and watch the "3D cinema" my niece was improvising at home before I left. Obvious, simple jokes, special effects out of control. No coordination on sounds, lights...

In whole, I do highlight a boiled egg's striptease and the waitress' smile. On the other side, hours of conversation about puppet theatre, it's origins, influences and achievements. About that :) I'd like to have a visitor comment. Would you Fer?

Melodias y colores / Colours and melodies

There are certain guitars that are magical. There are certain moments that are magical. There are certain magic guitars that bring out certain magic moments and suddenly everything shifts whirling into colours, emotions and flows veritiginous through that whole being that is called... uni-verse.

Memories of old colours and moments. The sun, fluttering in my yellow glasses; splashing on the simmulated silver of mysterious findings, on plastic emmeralds, on the virgin grass, on the birds... the dandelion side to side with the rail reflecting two suns...

Scents and melodies, sensations that won't come back...

And are treasured memories, snapshots, jewelry-like.
